JAMES McCARTNEY is a chip off the old Macca in at least one way. The fair-haired son of Linda and Paul McCartney made his NYC debut at Rockwood Music Hall on Wednesday night and impressed the crowd with an infectious set ranging from muscular rock to
stirring ballads. Although there were moments when his music recalled the heyday of his parents’ rock band Wings, the 34-year-old guitarist and singer has clearly forged a winning sound of his own. Perhaps he’s most like dad in his ability to attract beautiful young women to his shows. When we asked McCartney why so many hotties showed up to see him, he gave us a deadpan look and said, “Maybe it’s because there are so many beautiful women in New York.” Good answer!
